DOING THE JOB THE GOVT. WON'T DO!!!

The Support Arizona / Boycott San Diego Coalition (SABSDC)

Mission of the SABSD Coalition

We are a coalition of organizations from across the United States that have come together with a single objective, that of countering an extremely offensive,  anti-American, uninformed resolution passed by the City Council of San Diego, California.  That resolution attacks and insults the legislature, governor and people of Arizona.

Arizona had the temerity to pass a perfectly constitutional law that will facilitate the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws. Imagine that!

Why didn't those uppity Arizona politicians just put their tail between their legs and their heads in the sand, as the White House and most of Congress have been doing for decades?

San Diego City Councilmembers voting for the resolution were Ben Hueso, Todd Gloria, Donna Frye, Kevin Faulconer, Sherri Lightner and Tony Young. And Mayor Jerry Sanders was happy to sign it.

Only Councilmember Carl DeMaio had the intelligence and political courage to vote against it and tell his colleagues they were doing the wrong thing. But the politically correct are especially brave and reckless when they run in a herd.

The SABSD Coalition says this offensive foolishness will not stand. We are giving San Diego's Mayor and City Council one week (til COB May 28) to rescind their resolution and to apologize to the citizens of San Diego and Arizona. If they fail to do that, our coalition members and hundreds of other citizen groups across the country will be calling for a boycott of San Diego (see flyer) .

The boycott will have the strong support of San Diegans themselves. Most San Diegans think the new Arizona law is excellent. Many local boycott enthusiasts will now choose to go to shopping malls, grocery stores, restaurants, movies, sports events, etc. ONLY OUTSIDE SAN DIEGO CITY LIMITS. The choices outside are wide and close at hand!

The SABSD Coalition is giving prior warning to the San Diego business community -- much of which already strongly supports Arizona's law. Our hope is that they will  forestall damage to themselves by talking some sense into city hall. The business community has the clout if they want to use it.

We recognize that the city councils of other cities -- Los Angeles, San Francisco, Berkeley, Austin -- are also dominated by fools who have passed resolutions against Arizona, some calling for a boycott of the state. Their resolutions are equally offensive and based on ignorance and misinformation.

Some have asked us why we do not launch simultaneous boycotts focused on those other cities. The answer is simple. We are civilized carnivores. We eat our meals slowly, one bite at a time, sharing with other carnivores.

SAN DIEGO, Wednesday, May 26, 2010
Preparations for a general boycott of the City of San Diego have been finalized by the Support Arizona/Boycott San Diego Coalition (SABSDC). This is a diverse and growing group of organizations, about two dozen so far, representing all parts of the U.S. The boycott has been organized in response to a resolution passed by the San Diego City Council (SDCC) that attacks and presents false information about Arizona's new immigration law (SB 1070). That law represents an eminently fair, sensible, and constitutional attempt to compensate for the utter irresponsibility of the federal government in not enforcing existing immigration laws firmly and consistently.

Starting on May 23, the San Diego city government and business community were notified of the planned boycott. The only act that can prevent it from going into effect on May 29 would be rescision by the SDCC by May 28 of the resolution in question (SDCC R-305813) and public announcement of that rescision. Also demanded is an apology by the SDCC to the citizens, governor, and legislature of Arizona and to the citizens of San Diego. All stand wronged and misrepresented by the SDCC's intemperate action. The business community was encouraged to contact the SDCC and urge rescision. The business community, not the politicians, would be most damaged by a boycott. But if the business community chooses not to pressure the SDCC -- and many in the business community do employ illegal aliens  -- they must accept the consequences of their inaction.

A press conference will be held at a date to be announced later.

Full details on the Arizona law and the SDCC resolution are available on the SABSDC webpage at http://sandiegobrigade.webs.com/sabsdcoalition.htm. Coalition members are also listed there.

CITY COUNCILS ATTACKING ARIZONA'S SB 1070

All these councils have passed offensive, dishonest and inaccurate resolutions that either call
for a
 boycott of Arizona
or attack that state and its laws in other ways.

All Americans, as well as all people in other countries who believe in the principle of national
sovereignty,
SHOULD BOYCOTT THE CITIES IN THIS LIST AND AVOID, AS MUCH AS
POSSIBLE, ALL COMMERCIAL
TRANSACTIONS WITH OR IN THEM.
