MEDIA ALERT!

Jeff Schwilk, Founder, San Diego Minutemen
760-525-1655

Assemblywoman Lori Saldana is hosting a hate crimes summit (see their flyer below) this evening at USD, 6-8pm along with many other local community groups in San Diego.   While the San Diego Minutemen is 100% opposed to all hate and racism and applaud and support any real efforts to curb hate incidents in San Diego County, we are concerned that Ms. Saldana, Enrique Morones, and many of the other radical illegal alien activists will use this forum to preach their own hate and continue their slanderous, malicious attacks against innocent Americans whom they have vowed to destroy due to their political differences on ILLEGAL immigration.

These groups, utilizing Saldana as their spokeswoman, have stepped up their vicious smear attacks this year against radio hosts Roger Hedgecock, Rick Roberts, and the more than 600 law-abiding, multi-ethnic members of the San Diego Minutemen due to our call for secure borders and immigration enforcement against criminals.  Led by Saldana and her "Latino Caucus", they even succeeded in convincing the local Caltrans District Director to violate the U.S. Constitution and remove SDMM from our legally permitted adopted highway site in January.  SDMM remains in the program and has sued Caltrans in Federal Court for the lawful return of that site.

Yesterday, Enrique Morones went on a Chicago radio show for an hour and made outrageous false statements that the Minutemen work with neo-Nazi's and that other secure borders groups are run by white supremacists!  Here's the short clip:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEUNvUag6oU .  Enrique has been the main spokesman for the Latino groups in San Diego County for many years!

As you can hear, he then goes on to brag that members of the DA's and state attorney's offices will also be at the summit tonight and Enrique and friends will be pushing them to "shut down these groups".

Ironically, the keynote speaker tonight, Heidi Beirich from the SPLC, defended the Minutemen recently and made it clear that the Minutemen groups only oppose illegal immigration and don't hate anyone.  Here's the clip:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yxjq0taKmag

For the record again, SDMM opposes any and all racially motivated hate and violence.  The vast majority of our members are immigrants or children of immigrants from around the world, including Mexico.  SDMM has never encountered any white supremacists or neo-nazi groups in San Diego County, but we have seen strong, violent anti-American hate from Brown Berets and other racist, seditious Chicanos and reconquistas.   Just two weeks ago,  Elizabeth Camarillo of Fallbrook was convicted for her attack on a peaceful SDMM cameraman which was clearly racially and hate motivated:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtPuj0UB6BM  This attack is so violent and shocking that YouTube flagged it as not suitable for minors.  We applaud District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis for aggressively prosecuting this and other attacks on Americans during the past year and a half.  These prosecutions have resulted in four convictions now against Minutemen attackers who just can't control their hate of Americans in public.

Here is the current list of over 2 dozen attacks against peaceful Americans by illegal aliens or their supporters in San Diego County:
There has never been one single attack on anyone by a member of SDMM in 3 years of operation!

We agree with the premise of this hate summit that we all need to work together to end racial hate and division in San Diego.  We believe that getting control of illegal immigration will go a long way to ending the growing anti-American hate that has begun to infest San Diego County the past 2-3 years by immigrants and activists who support illegal immigration from Mexico.

Several of our members will be attending tonight's forum to monitor the radical illegal alien activist leaders who are scheduled to attend.
